- Stephen's siderods are unique for TrackMaster and Plarail engines.
- Stephen and Oliver are the only engines to have their siderods connected to their front wheels.
- Plarail Stephen's has his motor stored in his tender. The other engines to have this are Hank, Molly, Emily, and Murdoch.
